Mr. Faiz Ahmed, Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is a career civil servant. He took over the charge of the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on 1st July, 2018. 

He has been serving in the civil service for the last 31 years in different capacities of both Secretariat and Field Administration such as Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Upazila/Thana Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Mr. Ahmed started his career in Civil Service in 1987. He served as Assistant Private Secretary and Private Secretary to the Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Textiles from 1998-2001. He also served as Upazila Nirbahi Officer from 2002-2006 in Hossainpur Upazila of Kishoreganj District and as Deputy Commissioner of Rajbari and Chittagong from 2009-2012. He worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forest and Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Before joining as Secretary in the Ministry of Public Administration, he served as Secretary, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

Mr. Ahmed was born in a respectable Muslim Family in Patuakhali district. In his personal life, he is married and blessed with a son and a daughter. He furnished his graduation with honours in Agriculture and post-graduation in Government and Politics.

As a part of training programs and government duties, he visited several countries like Germany, UK, USA, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Malaysia, Indonesia , Iran, Srilanka, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Nepal, Thailand and India.
